PowerTech Industries

Power Tech Industries is an independent, Manufacturer's Representative organization that was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in suburban Indianapolis, IN. We are an established and highly successful multi-man rep agency representing manufactures of power transmission, bearing, and motion control components. At the present time we employ three technically qualified outside salesman.

Power Tech Industries owes it's success to a very focused and disciplined work ethic. Over the years we have concentrated our sales efforts representing several outstanding companies, refusing to spread ourselves to thin.

We are currently very close to a 50\50 split between OEM and Industrial Distribution business.

Our primary industrial distributors are independent PT or Bearing distributors as well as the major national chains (Motion, AIT, Kaman, etc.)

Market Strategy

With OEM customers our primary focus is developing a strong association with key engineering personnel, because we know this is the key to success in selling precision and engineered products.

With Industrial Distributors we work diligently to earn their business, trust and respect. Our goal is to motivate and educate the Distributors inside and outside sales people making it easy and profitable for them to promote our product lines.

Our goal is to gain engineering approval and have specifications written around the products we represent. We also work hard with Purchasing and Sales-Marketing departments to insure that we uncover the customer's needs and then fulfill those needs.

Together with each Principal we establish a three year sales plan that is reviewed and revised annually. The plan will set priorities, establish realistic sales targets and identify a list of target accounts. The plan will also include a list of specific activities required by both the Rep and Principal in order to make the plan materialize.

Our Principals

Our most successful relationships have been with Manufacturers who know the full value of a professional Manufacturer's Representative and are dedicated to selling through Reps. We are dedicated in establishing a long term, trusting and mutually profitable relationship with our Principals. We seek Manufacturers who will offer a fair and binding contract while making us a large part of their plan to succeed.

Meet Our Team

Mike McAloon

President, Founder

Regional Territory Manager

Mike began his career after graduating from Indiana State University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Marketing. Recruited on campus, Mike joined FMC-Link Belt and held several outside sales and sales management assignments in the mid-west over a nine year span. In 1986 Mike formed and organized Power Tech Industries to represent manufacturers truly committed to increased sales volume and profitability.

Sandra McAloon

Office Manager

Sandra began working for Power Tech Industries, Inc. in 1987. Sandra maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures; controlling correspondences; designing filing systems; supports sales staff; handles all administrative services and tasks with accuracy for the business.

Dave Kielty

Regional Territory Manager

Dave joined our organization in 1991 and established a base of operation just outside of Detroit in Plymouth, MI. He brought with him a solid six-year background in industrial distributor sales with Carlson - Dimond & Wright. Dave started his career with Carlson - Dimond & Wright after graduating from Central Michigan University. Dave Kielty currently covers the territories of Michigan, Northern Ohio and Western PA.

John Franzer

Regional Territory Manager

John Franzer joined Power Tech in 2013 and is based out of Dayton Ohio. John brings with him 13 years extensive experience in the fields of mechanical power transmission, electrical and fluid power products sold in a wide area of industries. John graduated from Ohio Northern University and was Account Manager for Applied Industrial Technologies for 10 years. John currently handles the state of Kentucky, West Virginia and southern Ohio territories.
